(Step 1.) Portrait-Quality Fine Belgian Linen on Heavy-Duty Stretcher Bars.
(Step 2.) 3 to 5 Coats Gesso thinned with water until brushmarks don’t hold up on
canvas, tinted with Paynes Gray to a pastel hue.
(Step 3.) Light colored underpainting in oils mixed with M-G White or Foundation White.

(Step 4.) Canvas should “cure” two to three weeks.
(Step 5.) Lay in darks — glazes. This layer should be dry to the touch before continuing.
